Estancia Tanama Inc. is a Puerto Rico nonprofit corporation recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3). Estancia Tanama Inc. operates the organization publicly known as Estancia Tanamá Animal Sanctuary.
In this Privacy Policy, “Estancia Tanamá,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Estancia Tanama Inc.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information when you visit estanciatanama.org and its related pages, forms, donation tools, and online store collectively referred to as the “Site,” or otherwise communicate with us.

We collect information that you voluntarily provide to us, information collected automatically when you use the Site, and limited information received from service providers that help us process transactions or operate the Site.

Volunteer and foster inquiries
When you contact us about volunteering, fostering, transporting animals, or supporting sanctuary activities, we may collect information such as:

- Town or municipality of residence

- Whether you have a valid driver’s license or transportation
- Information about animals in your household, including vaccination status
- Relevant animal-care or volunteer experience
- Other information you choose to include in your application or message
Please do not submit sensitive information that is not necessary for us to respond to your inquiry.
Newsletter subscriptions
When you subscribe to our newsletter or email updates, we collect your email address and any other information requested on the subscription form, such as your name.
Donations
When you make a donation, we may collect information such as:

- Telephone number
- Donation amount and date
- Donation designation or campaign
- Whether the donation is recurring

Our donation forms are operated through GiveWP and connected payment-processing services. Payment card information is submitted to and processed by the applicable payment processor.
We do not store your complete payment card number or card security code. We may receive and retain limited transaction information, such as the payment status, transaction identification number, payment method, card type, or last four digits of the card.
Online purchases
When you purchase merchandise through our online store, we may collect:
- Your name
- Billing and shipping addresses
- Email address
- Telephone number
- Products ordered
- Order, shipping, and transaction information
- Messages or instructions submitted with your order
Our store is operated using WooCommerce, and payments may be processed through WooPayments, Stripe, or another payment provider displayed during checkout.
Official WooCommerce payment gateways generally do not store complete card details, although limited payment-token or transaction information may be retained.
Account information
If the Site allows customer or donor accounts and you choose to create one, we may collect your username, password or encrypted login credentials, account preferences, order history, and donation history.
Communications
We may keep records of emails, messages, telephone inquiries, and other communications with you.
Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the Site, certain technical information may be collected automatically by our website, hosting provider, security tools, or other service providers, including:

Do Not Track Signals and Third-Party Collection
Some web browsers offer a “Do Not Track” or similar privacy signal. Because there is not currently a universally accepted standard for responding to these signals, the Site does not presently respond to browser-based Do Not Track requests.
Third-party providers involved in website hosting, embedded content, security, email services, donations, or payment processing may collect technical or transaction information when their services are used. Depending on the provider and its settings, that information may include activity collected over time or across different websites.
Third-party providers process information according to their own privacy policies and contractual obligations.

- Shipping, fulfillment, accounting, or professional service providers
These providers receive information only as reasonably necessary to perform services for us and are subject to their own privacy and security obligations.
Legal and safety reasons
We may disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to:

If Estancia Tanama Inc. participates in a merger, reorganization, transfer of operations, or similar nonprofit organizational transaction, relevant information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law and appropriate protections.

We may share information when you direct us to do so or otherwise give us permission.
Donor Privacy
We respect the privacy of our donors.
We do not sell, rent, or trade donor names, contact information, mailing lists, or donation histories to other organizations for their independent marketing or fundraising purposes.
We may use donor information to process contributions, issue receipts, maintain legally required records, respond to donor inquiries, and communicate about Estancia Tanamá when the donor has agreed to receive those communications.
We will not publicly identify a donor or disclose a donation amount without the donor’s permission, except where disclosure is required by law.
Email Communications
You may unsubscribe from promotional or newsletter emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in the email or by contacting us at informacion@estanciatanama.org.
Even after you unsubscribe from promotional communications, we may send non-promotional messages related to a donation, order, receipt, account, inquiry, or other transaction.
Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to:

- Complete donations and orders

The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
However, no website, electronic transmission, payment system, or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of personal information.
