Estancia Tanamá is preparing to launch a foster program as part of our rescue and rehabilitation work in Puerto Rico. If you live in Puerto Rico and want to be among the first to open your home to an animal in need, we'd love to hear from you.

What Fostering Means

Fostering gives an animal a safe, temporary home while we work to find them a permanent one. It's not adoption, you're not committing forever. You're committing to right now, which is often exactly what an animal needs most.

Who We’re Looking For

We're building a network of fosters across Puerto Rico ahead of our first rescues. You don't need experience. You need space, patience, and a willingness to learn. We'll provide the training, the supplies, and the support.

What to Expect When You Become a Foster

The foster path is short, simple, and fully supported. From the moment you apply, we guide you through each step so you’re never doing it alone. Here’s what to expect once you submit your application.

  1. Apply

    Fill out a short profile telling us about your home, experience, and what kind of foster situation feels right for you. This helps us understand how to best support you and the animals in our care.

  2. Get Matched

    We thoughtfully connect you with an animal whose needs, personality, and care requirements align with your home. Every match is made with intention, for both you and the animal.

  3. Receive Support

    You’re never doing this alone. We provide food, supplies, veterinary care, and ongoing guidance throughout the entire foster experience, so you can focus on giving them stability and care.

  4. A New Beginning

    When the time is right, we'll find your foster animal a loving forever home. The care you've provided and the bond you've built help make that next chapter possible.
