This work did not start with a building. It started with one person who looked at a crisis many had learned to walk past and decided they could no longer look away. That decision became a team. That team became Estancia Tanamá.

FOUNDER/PRESIDENT

Dr. Ana V. Caceres

Born and raised in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, Dr. Cáceres has been driven by compassion for animals since childhood. Growing up near the rainforest, she developed a deep respect for nature and a lifelong commitment to helping vulnerable animals in need.

Her passion for science and veterinary medicine led her to study biology and animal science at the University of Puerto Rico before earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree with Magna Cum Laude honors from Tuskegee University. She later completed a Radiology Residency at University of Pennsylvania, where she served as a faculty member for fifteen years.

Today, Dr. Cáceres brings both expertise and action to the mission behind Estancia Tañamá, helping create long-term solutions for Puerto Rico’s stray animal crisis through care, advocacy, and sanctuary.

VICE PRESIDENT

José believes that lasting impact begins with a clear vision and the ability to bring people together around a shared purpose. As a creative strategist and designer, he is shaping the identity and future of Estancia Tanamá, transforming an ambitious idea into a movement people can believe in. Through thoughtful design, storytelling, and innovation, he is helping lay the foundation for a sanctuary that will serve Puerto Rico for generations to come.

Vero Monroig

SECRETARY OF TREASURE

Vero has always believed that service begins with showing up for those who need you most. As a pilot and Army veteran, she is helping build a future where rescued dogs can leave Puerto Rico behind and begin new lives with loving families. Her vision for Estancia Tanamá reaches beyond rescue, creating pathways to safety, healing, and second chances. Every flight represents more than transportation; it represents hope for animals waiting for a future they deserve.

Ricardo brings a lifetime of service to every rescue, working tirelessly to give Puerto Rico's stray dogs a better future. He believes every life is worth fighting for and every rescue matters.
